oh little Stephanie

My little Stephanie
I hold you in my arms and I stare into your sleeping beauty
Wondering how I step into this fantasy, your mom what a cutie
I just hope that I can live up to your expectations
I have a high school diploma to show for my education
My hands are all callused and bloody
So I can support my family by making money
This little apartment, and no vacation
I am just a carpenter for the duration
I was outcast and the bench warmer of the team
Your mom, she was the home coming queen
All the boys wanted her
the basketball captain he gave her diamond and fur
me? Flowers and chocolates, my family was pore
and now she is my wife who I love and adore
Oh sweet Stephanie
For all the love you brought to me
How precious life is, you make me see
I can’t promise you the Nike shoes but I can give you what you need
My little Stephanie
Thanks for all that you gave to me
A reason to work long hours
To get my hands dirty, and they build a tower
Coming home from being tired and than taking a shower
My lovely wife makes us dinner
We never go out, I wouldn’t want a baby sitter
Rocking in this chair
singing to you with a prayer
the kings with the money will not corrupt you
the boys will treat you with care
your dreams are filled with happiness no despair
there will be many dresses you will wear
batz mitzvah, prom and than your wedding dress
you will wear the crown of the prettiest.
I liked it. Stephanie probably won't realize it for a long time, but she is very lucky. So is the narrator in this poem.
